2. Overview

UnloopNow ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we handle it.

The short version: We don't collect personal data. No account required, no email collected. Your personal data stays on your device.

3. Data We Collect

3.1 Data Stored Locally (On Your Device Only)

All your personal app data is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to us:

  • Your selected modules and preferences
  • Progress tracking and streaks
  • Check-ins and logged entries
  • Settings and configurations

We have no access to this data. If you delete the app, this data is permanently deleted.

3.2 Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we collect:

  • Device Token: A unique identifier provided by Apple to deliver notifications to your device

This token is used solely to send you reminders, streak updates, and other app-related notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

3.3 Screen Time API

We use Apple's Screen Time API (Family Controls / Device Activity) to enable app blocking features. This data:

  • Is processed entirely on your device by Apple's framework
  • Is never transmitted to us or any third party
  • Cannot be accessed or read by our app

We only receive anonymous timing signals to trigger app blocking - no information about which apps you use is ever shared with us.

3.4 Anonymous Analytics (PostHog)

We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage statistics to improve our app. This data cannot be linked to you personally.

What we collect:

  • App opens and session duration
  • Onboarding completion steps
  • Feature usage (which screens are viewed, which features are used)
  • Subscription events (paywall viewed, subscription started)
  • General engagement metrics (lessons viewed, exercises completed)

What we DO NOT collect:

  • Your name, email, or contact information
  • Your specific entries, notes, or personal reflections
  • Data that could identify you personally

Anonymous Identifier: PostHog generates a random, anonymous ID stored on your device. This ID cannot be linked to your identity.

3.5 Subscription Management (RevenueCat)

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and purchases. RevenueCat collects:

  • Anonymous App User ID (randomly generated)
  • Purchase history (which subscription, purchase date)
  • Subscription status (active, expired, cancelled)

This data is necessary to provide you with premium features and is processed according to RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

3.6 Paywall Display (Superwall)

We use Superwall to display and manage our subscription screens. Superwall collects minimal anonymous data:

  • Paywall view events
  • Conversion metrics

No personal data is collected by Superwall.

3.7 Apple App Store

When you make a purchase, Apple processes your payment. We do not have access to your payment details (credit card, Apple ID, etc.). For information on how Apple handles your data, see: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

We process anonymous data based on:

  • Legitimate Interest: To improve our app and understand usage patterns
  • Contract Performance: To provide subscription services you purchase

Since we don't collect personal data, most GDPR provisions regarding personal data do not apply.

5. Data Sharing

We share anonymous data only with our service providers:

We do not sell any data to third parties.

We have signed Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with our service providers to ensure GDPR-compliant data handling.

6. International Data Transfers

Our service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). They use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

7. Data Retention

  • Local data: Stored until you delete the app
  • Anonymous analytics: Up to 24 months
  • Subscription data: As long as required for service provision and legal compliance

8. Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal data that identifies you, traditional GDPR rights (access, deletion, portability) have limited application. However:

  • Delete local data: Uninstall the app to delete all local data
  • Opt-out of analytics: Contact us at support@unloopnow.app and we can guide you through disabling analytics

9. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures:

  • All data transmission is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Local data is stored securely on your device
  • Our service providers maintain industry-standard security practices

10. Children's Privacy

UnloopNow is not intended for children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app. The "Last updated" date indicates the latest revision.
